How Can I Help My Child Become a Fluent Reader?

Being a fluent reader is a necessary skill for everyone, and there are ways to help your child increase fluency at home.

One of the best ways to do so is to expose children to good readers; if they hear someone reading fluently, they will learn what the right way to read is.

Rereading a book several times is also helpful because it gets the child reading with correct pauses and pronunciation; it usually takes up to three or four times for a child to be able to read a story fluently.

You can create your own books at home by printing off pages and helping your child read until he or she has a full grasp of the story and can read without difficulty.
